How to supply print-ready artwork for reliable results

What we need from you

To produce accurate, consistent results we require print-ready artwork supplied to the size ordered. If artwork is not print-ready, production may be delayed while we contact you.

Supply artwork at the correct size

Artwork should be set up to the final print size you are ordering. Do not supply artwork at a different size and ask us to scale unless you have confirmed this with us first.

Bleed and safe area

Where artwork runs to the edge, include a bleed area so important elements are not trimmed off.

  • Bleed: add 3mm where applicable
  • Keep important text and logos at least 10mm from the edge

For large-format products, edge finishing (such as hemming and eyelets) can reduce usable space near the edges. Keep key content away from edges unless you are confident it is safe.

File formats

Preferred formats:

  • PDF (print-ready)
  • AI / EPS (outlined fonts)

Accepted formats (with limitations):

  • SVG
  • TIFF
  • PNG (high resolution)
  • JPG (high resolution)

We do not recommend supplying Word, PowerPoint or Canva exports unless you have checked size, resolution and colour setup.

Resolution

Use the correct resolution for the viewing distance.

  • Large format (viewed at distance): 100–150dpi at full size is usually sufficient
  • Close viewing (posters, small signage): 300dpi at full size

Low-resolution artwork will print soft or pixelated. We do not re-draw or sharpen artwork unless agreed.

Colour setup

For print, artwork should ideally be supplied in CMYK. RGB files will be converted and may shift in colour.

Screen colours are not a reliable reference. If colour accuracy is critical, request a printed proof.

Fonts

Fonts should be embedded in PDF files or converted to outlines in vector artwork. If fonts are missing, they may substitute and change your layout.

Black text and large black areas

For small text, use 100% K black for clean edges. For large black areas, a rich black build may be required for an even finish. If you are unsure, send a PDF and we will advise.

Proofs and approval

We do not automatically provide proofs unless your product or order requires it. If you request a proof, production will only begin once you approve it.

Common issues that delay production

  • Artwork supplied at the wrong size
  • Low-resolution images
  • Missing bleed
  • Fonts not embedded or outlined
  • Files exported incorrectly (especially from Canva / Office)
